CORN DELIVERY

Corn Delivery Schedule 2005-06 | Corn Delivery Schedule 2006-07 | Grain Discount Schedule

Members of Mid-Missouri Energy, Inc. are required to deliver annually 1000 bushels of corn for each unit of stock owned or authorize the corn pool to procure the corn on their behalf. Each member is assigned a delivery group in which to deliver. Click here for the 2006-2007 Delivery Schedule.

Our plant accepts corn basis #2 yellow, 15% moisture. Corn over 16% moisture will be rejected at buyer’s sole discretion. Click here for complete Grain Discount Schedule.

Mid-Missouri Energy, Inc. allows a freight incentive for member corn delivery. The incentive is based on the distance from the member’s point of residence to the plant at Malta Bend. Click here for Freight Incentive Schedule.

If a member prefers not to deliver their committed corn because of distance from the plant, lack of storage, or any other reason, they may choose to use Mid-Missouri Energy’s Corn Pool.

CORN POOL

Each year prior to the beginning of the company's fiscal year (October 1), the board will determine the cost per bushel for operating a corn pool. The Board of Directors has set the pool fee for Oct. 1, 2006 - Sept. 30, 2007 fiscal year at $0.10 per bushel. Members can choose to pay this fee to have all or a portion of their corn commitment delivered by the corn pool. For example, if a member owns 10 units and has a commitment to deliver 10,000 bushels of corn (3,333 bu. per delivery period) and he chooses to use the corn pool for all of his commitment, he would pay the pool fee times the number of committed bushels. In this example, with the pool fee of $0.10, the member would remit a check in the amount of $1,000.00 made payable to MME Grain Co. The member would then have no further delivery obligations for that fiscal year.

Members choosing to participate in the corn pool must do so for the entire fiscal year. Members also have the option of using the corn pool for a portion of their committed corn. For example, a member may have some on-farm storage and wants to deliver one-third of his commitment and have the corn pool deliver the other two-thirds. If he owns 10 units and has a corn commitment of 10,000 bushels, the member would deliver 1,111 bushels each delivery period and the corn pool would deliver 2,222 bushels each delivery period on his behalf. If the corn pool fee was $0.10, the member would send a check for $666.67 to MME Grain Co.

Freight Delivery

The incentive is based on the distance from the point of residence of the member to the plant at Malta Bend (see Distance Calculator chart below). (Revised by Board of Directors 3/9/04)

CORN FAQ

Q. Can a member wait until after their corn harvest to declare if they will deliver their committed bushels or enroll in the pool? This may not be known by August 1st each year.

A. No. According to our Offering Document, Members are required to make this decision 60 days prior to October 1. Producers should have a good estimation of crop size by August 1.

Q. If a member places a percentage of their committed bushels in the pool, must the remaining portion be delivered evenly across all trimesters?

A. Yes. The member must deliver the remaining bushels evenly across two or three trimesters.

Q. Why is MME using an average price over 4 months instead of a daily or weekly price?

A. We anticipate that we will need to make additional changes to our Corn Delivery System in the future as other plants have done.  This system was recommended to ensure a level supply of member's corn being delivered. The average price over the four months will more fairly compensate the members as they cannot choose the week of the trimester they deliver corn.

Q. What is the Average Actual Price?

A. Our Commodity Manager will be buying corn each week to secure the pool bushels as well as the bushels we need in excess of Member's committed bushels. The Average Actual Price is the price our Commodity Manager has paid for corn delivered to the plant for the four month delivery period.

Q. How does a member figure the mileage from the residence to the plant?

A. The Member is obligated to inform us of the loaded road miles they travel from their residence to the plant.

Q. Is there a list of names of people willing to deliver corn for members? How do we get the list?

A. No, but we will post your telephone number and bushels for two working days on the daily bid sheet mailed electronically to members and licensed storage elevators who have signed up to receive it.

Q. Should a member be concerned about the corn quality specifications if another party is delivering corn on their behalf?

A. Yes. We encourage the Member to share the quality specifications with individuals that will be delivering corn but believe that these "standard" specs shouldn't be difficult to meet.

Q. Is there a standard practice how to handle the withholding of 20% until the "true up" when using someone else to deliver a member's corn?

A. At this time, we do not know of any standard agreements. We encourage the Member to address this issue individually.

Q. If a Member is out of town can a family member sign the Corn Delivery documents?

A. No. Documents can only be signed by members or by individuals authorized by a member. A power of attorney document might be of interest to members who need different arrangements.

Q. What does Paragraph C on Corn Pool Agreement mean?

A. In our offering document, Appendix D, Paragraph 8, it states that if business conditions warrant, our lender can require us to limit the payment for corn to 80%. This will be an unlikely scenario, but if it results, the Pool Member would have to reimburse MME for 20% to be fair to all members.

Q. How do I calculate my Pool Fee?

A. Multiply 10¢ by number of bushels placed in the pool.
